Customers of DC1.AMSTERDAM have been receiving their invoices in UBL format since 1 July 2023. In addition to the familiar PDF variant, we also include the UBL variant in XML with our email invoicing. This provides accounting convenience and other benefits to the recipient.
UBL invoices are easier for our customers, because they can be automatically read into their own accounting system. It also simplifies the administrative ability to itemize cost items. Think of differentiating certain colocation and connectivity services, or differentiating rack space and power costs.
E-invoicing: more options, fast and accurate
UBL stands for Universal Business Language. An invoice formatted in this universal language, based on the XML format, is ideally suited for e-invoicing. First, companies that purchase colocation services from us can book these electronic invoices much faster. After all, the associated human processing time disappears (in combination with an electronic accounting package) from the administrative process.
Automatic recognition and processing
Personal actions such as reading pdf invoices and copying the relevant data, give way to automatic recognition with an .xml invoice. This also creates an inherent advantage regarding accuracy. Processing UBL invoices is simply less prone to errors. For instance, copying amounts, account numbers and other billing info is no longer subject to typing and other errors.
